    Position Summary:

    Securian Financial is going through exciting times.  We are transforming our quality assurance work to deliver business solutions through automated testing, agility and innovative technology solutions.  

    We are seeking an experienced Quality Assurance Engineering Consultant who will thrive in our fast-paced, results-driven and team-oriented organization. In this role, you will work in a collaborative agile environment and lead the product test and automation strategy, testing best practices and integrate with DevOps processes for Securian Financial products.  

    Responsibilities include but not limited to:

    • Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for Enterprise Technology Quality Assurance
    • Lead efforts to define, refine and articulate the testing strategy required to support products, including manual and automation testing.
    • Participate in design and specification reviews and use this information to design test plans
    • Design, create and deliver test automation within agile delivery teams.
    • Provide metrics to establish baselines and track quality and efficiency improvements over time. 
    • Provide thought leadership and creative ideas to ensure product and integration quality.
    • Ensure automation code quality, leveragability, and maintainability through code reviews, standards, etc.  
    • Lead and define the QA process working with the cloud, application development, agile, security, value stream, and DevOps teams.
    • Promote, apply, and recommend practices for Quality Standards to further Continuous Delivery & Continuous Improvement
    • Collaborate closely with other ET leaders to establish a culture for quality, including a “shift left” focus for finding defects sooner and discussing defect root causes and ways of preventing future defects.
    • Ensure test coverage by working closely with the product and engineering teams to prioritize test execution and report on progress and results.
    • Perform and participate in all aspects of manual and automated verification

    Qualifications:

    • Experience 3+ Years as a QA Lead and 5+ years as a QA Analyst.
    • Experience 3+ years in one or more programming languages, software engineering methodologies, and software quality tools:
    • Experience with AWS Cloud technology, Web API, RESTful web services
    • JavaScript, Jest, Java, Junit, HTML5, CSS, JSON, SQL
    • WebDriver IO, Postman, Newman, Cucumber, Jasmine
    • VSCode, Eclipse, IntelliJ, GitHub, Jenkins, Jira
    • Distributed logging, distributed data stores
    • Experience with developing, writing, and executing robust test scripts.
    • Strong technical aptitude and experience with the software tools and techniques used in software development and automated testing.
    • Demonstrated ability to translate business requirements into test strategy and test cases, estimating Agile testing tasks.
    • Effective time management, ability to plan and prioritize work effectively.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build solid relationships with team members.
    • Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
    • Deep understanding of industry test automation, test environment, and test data management strategies and frameworks.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
    • 5+ years in Quality Assurance related field
    • 3+ years test automation experience.
    • 3+ years of Java/JavaScript programming and DevOps experience
    • Experience with various types of testing including regression, performance, stress, unit, API, integration, and security testing
    • 1+ years Amazon AWS Cloud testing experience

    Physical Job Requirements
    · Ability to utilize keyboard, mouse and computer for up to 8 hours per day
    · Ability to work at least 40 hours per week
    · Ability to utilize telephone for up to 8 hours per day
    · Ability to perform grasping tasks throughout the entire work day (examples: handwriting, grasping of equipment/machines, paper manipulation, sorting, folding, handling stacks of paper)
