As an IT Senior Quality Assurance Analyst, you will provide professional knowledge and skills in information systems software testing, quality assurance and quality control of application software and systems serving our customers at the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. This includes the quality of the coding itself and not just the outcome of the application execution. You will also promote appropriate testing methodologies, striving to identify and manage defects in the software systems. As an expert, you will plan and coordinate all testing activities and represent automation and performance teams on projects. You will be responsible for working with the project manager to determine resourcing needs and level of effort for testing solutions. You will meet with project managers and other leads to create and maintain manual, regression, user, automation and performance testing and provide testing input for project scheduling. Your leadership role will extend to coordinating between manual QA, automation, user acceptance and performance test teams to ensure needs are being met and communication is properly flowing for both singular work efforts and project work. You will ensure proper assignments are being made and to discuss any challenges with project staffing requirements and helping QA team members remove any roadblocks. Plus, you will perform complex QA/Testing tasks and work with business SMEs and development team members by guiding, consulting, and collaborating on the development, testing, deployment and adoption of solutions and be a consultant for all quality assurance needs concerning system changes and coordinate implementation planning and releases.

This position requires a minimum of five (5) years of experience in performing IT quality analysis functions.
Experience must include:
Providing peer review analysis, leadership, and mentoring to quality assurance analysts and testers or IT professionals.
User acceptance testing in support of and leading/helping business partners and customers
Participating in formal review and approval of business/functional requirements and application design.
Estimating QA resources needed and developing test strategies, test plans, traceability matrices, and final quality assurance reports.
Managing QA scope and deliverables for projects.

Experience providing technical leadership in planning, designing, executing testing, and developing procedures relating to product quality on complex projects and strong background in process management using industry standard software development methodologies.
Experience working with web based forms, web based content, and interactive solutions as well as performing testing on web based applications and database testing.
Experience in the performance of risk analysis at the project management or release level.
Experience with workflow applications.
Experience with quality assurance on a data migration project.
Experience with multiple programming languages, software development technologies, and a variety of database platforms.
Experience with accessibility testing.
Experience coaching, mentoring, and/or supervising quality assurance analysts and testers or IT professionals and directing most complex and creative cross-functional assignments.
Ability to communicate clearly, present complex information to users in a comprehensive style, and translate technical and system information for non-technical stakeholders.
