    Job Summary


    **NOTE: This position is temporary and includes full state fringe benefits; the position is anticipated to last up to two (2) years.

    As an IT Senior QA Automation Engineer, you will provide professional knowledge, skills, and leadership in the creation of advanced automated smoke and functional testing solutions for application software and systems. This role includes skills, activities, practices, tools, and deliverables applied at every phase of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) which ensures that a software solution will be designed, implemented, and operationally supported to meet the specified functional requirements. You will be relied upon to promote and continually improve appropriate automation testing methodologies while striving to ensure adherence to service levels and optimize application functional performance prior to deployment.



    Minimum Qualifications:

    Candidates must clearly demonstrate all of the following qualifications in their resume:


    This position requires a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a test automation engineer role.

    Experience must include:

    - Developing and executing automation test scripts.

    -Use of TestComplete automation testing tool
    - Use of other automation testing tools (e.g. Java, Visual Studio, Selenium, Sikuli, Rational Functional Tester, etc.)
    - Designing test strategies, plans, and scripts.

    A Master's degree in Information Technology or a related field may substitute for three years of experience, related Bachelor's degree may substitute for two years, or related Associate's degree may substitute for one year.

    **Successful candidate must pass past-employer reference checks and a criminal history verification.** 

    It is the policy of Minnesota IT Services that all employees submit to a background investigation prior to employment. The background check may consist of the following components: 


    SEMA4 Records Check (applies to current and past state employees only)

    Social Security and Address Verification 

    Education Verification

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Experience using Rational Functional Tester.

    Experience creating an automation framework.

    Experience with software development for large scale applications and/or leading automation testing initiatives for large scale implementation.

    Experience with multiple programming languages and software development technologies such as JAVA, .NET, Python, SQL, 3gl, 4gl, object-oriented languages

    Experience in process management using industry standard software development methodologies.

    Knowledge of open source automation testing tools (SoapUI) and/or mobile testing techniques.

    Ability to communicate clearly, present complex information to users in a comprehensive style, and translate technical and system information for non-technical stakeholders.
